Certification

Before You Begin

CADRE is designed to be understandable before someone commits time, money, partnership interest, or attention.

What is CADRE?

CADRE is the Center for Advancing Data, Research, and Evaluation, an Afghanistan-based institution advancing data, research, and evaluation through credentialing, practical frameworks, knowledge sharing, and institutional support.

Who is CADRE for?

CADRE is for people who work with evidence: data practitioners, researchers, evaluators, analysts, development professionals, educators, consultants, students, and career-changers.

Do I need an advanced degree?

No. CADRE is built around demonstrable competence. An advanced degree can help, but it is not required for the core credential.

Is CADRE tied to one software package?

No. CADRE is tool-neutral. It focuses on reasoning, methods, documentation, interpretation, and ethical evidence use rather than one specific platform.

What is the CADRE core credential?

The core credential is the required professional certification covering competence across data, research, and evaluation. It is the foundation for specialist pathways.

What are the specialist pathways?

The specialist pathways are CADRE-Data, CADRE-Research, and CADRE-Evaluation. They allow certified practitioners to show deeper focus in one domain.

How long is certification valid?

The current structure uses a three-year validity period with renewal through Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

What are CEUs?

CEUs are Continuing Education Units. They represent ongoing professional learning, practice, and development needed to maintain credential standing.

Is the Candidate Portal live?

The applicant/member portal is available for account creation and certification interest. Exam registration, CEU tracking, renewals, and digital badge access are planned as future modules.

How can I request the CADRE Model white paper?

Use the Request a Copy button on the Framework page. It opens an email request to CADRE.

How can members publish an Insight article?

Members and contributors can send articles by email. CADRE staff review and publish approved articles through the CADRE publishing dashboard.

Still have a Question?

Send your question to CADRE and include the topic in your email subject so it can be routed clearly.
